Snehanilayam, the house of love, as the name suggests is an institution for the intellectually challenged children run by the congregation of the Handmaids of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Founded in the year 1977 at Kakkanad, Kochi, we Handmaids inspired by the noble idea of selfless service desired to develop the spiritual, mental and physical abilities of the children. It proposes to impart in the minds of the children a feeling of being loved and accepted in society. The school provides them with opportunities to further the cause of their all round development. Taught with care and understanding the children can enhance their potentials. Every word of encouragement increases their self-esteem and helps them perform better.
